Khortytsya is the most popular place on the Dnieper. This island is located in the middle of Zaporizhia. There was a time when it was a reliable fortress, where wandering tribes and settlers could find shelter. The island of Khortytsya is one big attraction and a huge reserve. Here you can visit the Zaporizhian Sich. It is a copy of real Cossack camp. Here their state center was founded. If you are interested in learning more about how our ancestors lived, then the National Historical and Cultural Reserve and the Museum of the History of Ukrainian Cossacks are located on the island.
To get to the Khortytsya (which is visible from the windows of our hotel) by public transport, you need to get to the bus stop «Metalurgov» and make a transfer to the bus in the direction of the Khortitsky district. If you go from the Embankment, the road will take about half an hour. By car, you can reach the island in 15 minutes over the Preobrazhenskogo bridge, which is visible from the embankment near the “Venice” hotel.
If you like rare cars, then visit the museum of retro cars on Vyborgskaya street, 8. This is a unique museum, which contains a private collection of last century vehicles. All cars are restored and are in working condition, repeatedly participated in motor rally.
To go to the museum from the embankment by public transport, you need to get to the Pobeda street and from there to choose a route leading to the “Ukrgrafit” factory. The whole journey takes 30-40 minutes.
Zaporizhia oak is a monument of nature, which just recently turned 700 years old. He is famous for the fact that for centuries he was the center of pilgrimage for many peoples and religions. It was not possible to establish the exact age, but it is believed that this oak is mentioned by writers of the emperor times. There are Pokrovskaya Church and a square for theatrical performances nearby.
Departing from the Embankment you need to get to Pobeda street, from there transfer to bus number 92 and get to the Surikov street. The journey takes about 1 hour.
Dam of Dnieper Hydroelectric Station
Dnieper Hydroelectric Station is a unique hydraulic structure of the USSR. One of the largest hydropower plants in Europe. Here you can appreciate the beautiful landscapes of Khortytsya, the right and left banks of the Dnieper. There is also a museum where you can see expositions of station.
Getting to the dam by public transport from the Venice Hotel is possible in 20-30 minutes. From the Embankment you need to get to Shevchenko boulevard, and then transfer to the bus in the direction of Metalurgov Avenue.
Zaporizhia Children’s Railway is one of the largest and most original in Ukraine. If you come with children, take the time to visit this wonderful entertainment complex. At the moment, the length of the station reaches 9.4 km. Take a ride in a cozy carriage, you can visit the terrarium, aquarium, zoo and winter garden. All this is located on the territory of the complex.
If you leave the Naberezhnaya street, the road will take about 35-40 minutes. You need to get to Shevchenko boulevard and there to sit on any bus that goes in the direction of the Uzhnyi district. The road by car or taxi takes about 15 minutes.
Voznesenovsky Park is the most picturesque and romantic place in the city. This is an open green area near the cascade of fountains “Raduga”. There are many attractions, a pond, fountains, the “Bridge of lovers”, the newlyweds alley and much more.
You can get here on foot from our hotel along the embankment in 5 minutes.
