HAMAM

Hamam is a traditional Turkish bath where special treatments are given to purify, relax and revitalize. These treatments usually involve several stages, creating a unique experience for body and soul. Here’s an overview of typical treatments found in a hamam:

Pre-heating: A visit to a hamam begins with time spent in a warm steam room to allow the body to warm up and begin to sweat. This step helps to enlarge the skin’s pores and prepare it for deep cleansing.

Soap Massage (Kese): Pre-heating is followed by a soapy massage using a special gloved material called “Kese”. This massage helps to remove dead skin cells and stimulates blood circulation.

Soap and Foaming: After the soap massage, the skin is lavishly washed and covered with a thick foam, creating a feeling of lightness and freshness.

Cool shower or dousing with water: Hot steam is followed by a cool shower or dousing with cold water to close the skin pores and strengthen the skin.

Massage with oils: A relaxing massage with natural oils is often offered after the main treatments. This helps to relieve tension, improve blood circulation and soften the skin.

Rest and Tea: After the treatments are completed, time is offered to relax in a special relaxation room where you can enjoy tea, fruit and a relaxing atmosphere.

Hamam is not only a method for cleansing the skin, but also a traditional ritual to promote health and restore energy.
